When it comes to planning your big day, choosing the right photo and video for your wedding is one of the most important decisions you’ll make. More and more couples are now opting to book combined photo and video teams—and for good reason. This growing trend is transforming how wedding memories are captured, making the entire experience more seamless, cohesive, and meaningful.

If you’re planning a wedding and wondering how to get the best wedding photography and videography, here’s why a joint team might be your perfect match.

1. Seamless Collaboration Between Photo and Video Teams

Hiring one team that specializes in both wedding photography and videography ensures smoother collaboration. These professionals know how to work together without disrupting each other’s shots or creating unnecessary stress. With one unified team, you avoid miscommunication and capture every special moment efficiently. For example, I can’t tell you guys how many times I have had photographers choose to capture a ceremony from the middle of the aisle right next to your loved ones in the front row. They block the tripod angles and it is so frustrating for the video team. It also feels terrible to have to go up and ask them to move (which sometimes they don’t…) and then it’s just awkk… Our team chooses to be very unobtrusive when it comes to capturing ceremonies and typically do not have any need to be closer to the front than halfway up the aisle so we don’t distract your guests. Regardless, a little tip for your photographer search, ask your photographer what lenses they plan to capture your ceremony on, if they only say a 35mm, you should ask them to use an 85mm so they don’t have to be so close to the front!

2. Consistent Visual Style Across Photo and Video

When you hire a combined team for wedding photo and video services, you benefit from a consistent aesthetic. From lighting to editing style, the visuals from your wedding day will feel cohesive—whether you’re flipping through a photo album or watching your highlight film.

This is especially important if you want your wedding photos and videos to share the same artistic style or tone.

From a vendor standpoint, it can feel a little disorienting when you find out who the other media company is and you both have very different styles. For example, if the photographer is very light, bright and airy and your videographer is very moody and true to color, it can cause them to wonder which style you actually like or want. Below is the video from the wedding photos featured in this blog so you you can see the resemblance.

3. Simplified Planning and Fewer Vendors

Wedding planning is complicated enough. Booking one vendor for both wedding photo and video means fewer contracts, fewer meetings, and fewer timelines to manage. It streamlines your to-do list and keeps things simple—giving you more time to focus on your celebration.

4. Better Coverage Without Overlap

An experienced photo and video team knows how to divide responsibilities and cover more ground. Whether it’s getting drone shots of the venue, close-ups of the rings, or capturing emotional moments during the vows, they’re able to move with precision and purpose.

This ensures your wedding video and photography are rich in detail and emotion—without becoming intrusive.

5. Cost-Effective Wedding Packages

Bundling photo and video for your wedding can often save money. Many studios offer combined packages with added perks like extended hours, sneak peeks, or engagement sessions. You’ll likely receive more value than if you hired separate vendors for each service.

6. Stronger Storytelling With Photo and Video Together

Photography freezes beautiful moments in time. Video adds sound, motion, and atmosphere. When you bring both together through one team, your wedding story is told with deeper emotional impact and continuity.

Your wedding photos and video will work in harmony to preserve the memories of your day in the most authentic way possible.

Final Thoughts: Why Photo and Video for Wedding Should Come from One Team

Booking a combined wedding photo and video team is more than a trend—it’s a smart, modern approach to capturing one of the most important days of your life. From better collaboration and consistent visuals to simplified planning and potential savings, it’s no wonder more couples are choosing to keep photography and videography under one roof.

To clarify, when I talk about a photo and video team, I’m not just referring to a photographer who outsources the video work to someone else. What I offer is something much more personal and hands-on.

What sets me apart even further is that I personally edit both your photos and your film. That way, nothing gets lost in translation and the final product reflects the exact vision you trusted me with.
